Concourse Lake Native Plant Park
Concourse Lake Native Plant Park
Phase I (Initial Invasive Removal) – Summer and Fall 2025
The site was heavily impacted by woody species, primarily oak and black cherry, and by invasive
herbaceous plants, such as thistle and porcelain berry. The bulk of the invasive removal
was completed this past summer and fall.
Phase II (Second Round Invasive Removal) – Early Spring 2026
We are continuing to manage persistent woody growth, including oak saplings, black cherry,
and invasive porcelain berry vines, with additional invasive control work that occurred early in
spring 2026. Over the past several months, the FPC Landcare team has made significant
progress, removing large volumes of woody vegetation and herbaceous invasives, including
root systems.
Phase III (Plant Installation) – May 2026
To date, we have installed more than 2,280 plugs along with 100 native plant bulbs. Please see
the following plant list. Overall, Phase III (plant installation) is approximately 95% complete.
The remaining plants (fewer than 130) are currently being maintained under controlled
conditions and will be installed shortly.
